Few days back, I've read in Allkpop about whether Idol groups can be called as singers or not because they only sang couple of sec in 1 song....They also have put in some statistic on how many sec each idol member sang...(if u wanna read the article u can click this link MBC News Desk criticizes talentless idol stars )
After i read it, a lot of questions pop-up in my mind...so
1) What is the minimum sec that they need to sing per member in order to qualified them to be called singers?
2) Is there any rules & regulations that the must abide in order to be called singers? (i.e: to be called a singer each person need to sing at least 1min in 1 song)
3) "Solo singers" sing a whole song....so their part would be like ...mmmmm in minutes rite....so can them be called singers?
4) Then Son Dambi is a singer or an idol? She always used auto-tune rite..so is she a singer?? wait.....for someone who might not known who is Son Dambi kindly youtube her perf...i dun wanna bash her perf just her vocal need to be improve...^^
5) What about Kyuhyun..Yesung..Ryeowok (member of Super Junior)?...they absolutely can sing...but they were called an idol...hmmm weird huh...
Other example like our beloved TVXQ...all 5 of them can sing but they still being called an idol group (in Japan Tohoshinki were called vocal group) - dun care how many sec these boys were singing heheheh i really love their perf & vocal..
Davichi..8eight...2AM...etc... are good...so they were singers or idols??
I'm not saying that all idols can sing (some of them need to practice ....practice...practice) but to said that they can't be called a singer just bcoz only sang a few sec is just not fair....
For me whether they were called idols or singers by others..i still called them singers.... just need to differentiate them as good singers or singers that need to improve more....they sing a song..whoever sang a song is a singer to me, dun care if they only have 5sec part in 1 song....just simple as that ^^
The End of My 2cents.....
p/s: u read it, u understand it, then u leave my grammar alone...hehehe...grammar is my enemy
